WHAT THEY REALLY NEED

(06)

The Project

Videographer, and director for What They Really Need, a documentary short telling the story of Sagemont Helping Hands — the ministry meeting the physical needs of church members and the local community through food, rent assistance, and more during seasons of temporary need.

Shot on location at the Sagemont Annex where Helping Hands operates, the film was conceived, shot, interviewed, edited, and directed as a sole-creative project. Through conversations with volunteers and ministry leaders, the story moves past the logistics of what the ministry does to the heart of why it exists — meeting people where they are, with dignity, in the moments they need it most.

The video was produced to inform the congregation on the vision of the ministry and to cast forward into a season of growth — Helping Hands is currently being renovated to expand its visibility in the community and enhance its ability to serve those in need.
